Customer list
Open Customers in the sidebar to see every customer you’ve added. The list shows each person’s name, phone number, last order date, and any tags applied to their account. Searching and filtering:- Type in the search bar to filter by name, phone, email, or address in real time.
- Use the Sort by dropdown to order the list by name (A–Z), most recent activity, least recent activity, or highest revenue.
- Select a tag chip above the table to show only customers with that tag applied.
Adding a new customer

Open the Add customer form
Select Add customer in the top-right corner of the Customers page.

Enter the customer's details
Fill in the customer’s full name (required) and any combination of phone, email, and address. Only the name is required — you can add the rest later when you have it.

Apply tags
Select one or more tags from the tag picker at the bottom of the form. You can also apply tags later from the customer’s profile.

Save
Select Add customer. The customer appears immediately in the list and is ready to attach to an order.
Customer profile page
Click any row in the customer list to open that customer’s full profile. The profile is split into two columns. Left column:- Vehicles — every car linked to this customer, shown as cards with plate, colour, last service date, and ceramic/correction dates. Click a vehicle card to open its dedicated vehicle page.
- Order history — a full table of every order for this customer, filterable by status. Click any row to open the order detail.
- Location — an embedded map showing the customer’s address. A Directions button opens Google Maps for turn-by-turn navigation.
- Lifetime revenue — total income from completed and paid orders for this customer.
- Contact details — phone, email, address, customer since date, and the customer’s unique referral code (which you can copy with one click).
- Revenue by month — a bar chart of this customer’s monthly spend across the last 12 months of completed and paid orders.
- Notes — a free-text field that auto-saves as you type. Use it for preferences, paint condition notes, or anything else worth remembering between jobs.
Tags
Tags are colour-coded labels you apply to customers to organise and filter them. Examples include VIP, Corporate, Returning, or anything else meaningful to your workflow. Creating tags:1
Go to Settings → Tags
Navigate to Settings in the sidebar, then open the Tags panel.

Add a new tag
Enter a tag name, choose a colour, and select Add tag. The tag is now available in every tag picker across the app.
Auto-tag rules
DetailAhead can apply tags to customers automatically based on their booking behaviour. Enable auto-tags in Settings → Tags → Auto-add tags.Returning customer

Applied to any customer who completes a second order. Useful for identifying regulars and targeting loyalty offers.

Applied when a customer’s first order is confirmed. Lets you give first-timers a special welcome or follow-up.
No recent visit — 45 days

Applied to customers whose last order date is more than 45 days ago with no future booking. Use this to trigger a re-engagement message via Automation.

Applied when a customer’s last completed order was 30 days ago. Prompts your team to reach out and rebook before they go elsewhere.
Vehicle profiles
Every vehicle you detail can have its own profile page that tracks full service history for that specific car. Adding a vehicle:1
Open the customer's profile
Navigate to Customers and click the customer who owns the vehicle.

Select Add vehicle
In the Vehicles panel on the left, select Add vehicle.

Fill in the vehicle details
Enter the make (required), model, year, colour, registration plate, and any notes about the vehicle’s condition or the owner’s preferences.

Save
Select Add vehicle. The vehicle card appears on the profile and is now available to select when creating orders for this customer.
DetailAhead creates a vehicle profile automatically the first time you book an order that names a new car for a customer — you don’t need to add vehicles manually unless you want to get them on record before the first booking.
- Service history — every order booked against this specific car, with service name, date, status, and price.
- Protection records — ceramic coating date, paint correction date, and last service date.
- Vehicle details — make, model, year, colour, and registration.
- Notes — free-text field for paint condition, known defects, or owner preferences. Auto-saves as you type.
Customer personally identifiable information (name, phone, email, address) is encrypted at rest when encryption is enabled. You can manage this setting in Settings → Security.
