1
Complete your business profile
Open Settings from the sidebar and select Business Profile. Fill in every field on this panel — it feeds your invoices, your booking page, and the top of your dashboard:
- Business name — the trading name your customers know you by
- Address or service area — your physical address or, if you’re mobile, a description like Bristol and 15 miles around
- Phone — your main contact number
- Contact email — the address that appears on invoices and booking confirmations
- Logo — upload your business logo (PNG or JPG). It appears on every invoice and on your public booking page.
Your business name and contact details are also shown to customers on your public booking page. Getting these right early means every booking confirmation looks professional from day one.
2
Set your opening hours
In Settings, select Opening Hours. For each day of the week, toggle the day on or off and set your start and finish times.DetailAhead uses these hours to control which time slots customers can choose on your public booking page — the platform will never offer a slot outside the hours you set here. If you’re closed on Sundays, toggle Sunday off and no Sunday slots will appear to customers.Click Save opening hours when finished.
3
Configure notification preferences
In Settings, select Notifications. Turn on the alerts that matter to your workflow:
- New booking — fires when a customer submits a booking through your public booking page
- Order status changes — notifies you when a job is updated (e.g. moved to In Progress or Completed)
- Low stock alerts — triggered when an inventory item falls below its minimum quantity
- Customer follow-up reminders — prompts you to reach out to customers who haven’t booked recently
4
Add your service catalog
Your service catalog is the list of services and prices DetailAhead uses when your team creates orders and when customers browse your public booking page. Without it, neither workflow can function.Go to Settings → Services (or use the Services step in the setup wizard if you’re still in onboarding). Add each service you offer with a name and price. To get you started, here are the default services that many detailing businesses use:
Add these as a baseline and edit names, prices, or descriptions to match what you actually charge. You can also add photos and detailed descriptions to each service from the Store page after setup.
Every order you create requires a service from this catalog. The more accurate your catalog is, the more reliable your financial reporting will be — because DetailAhead tracks revenue per service automatically.
5
Set up your public Booking Page (optional)
Your public booking page lets customers book directly without calling or texting — they pick a service, choose a time within your opening hours, and the submission appears in your dashboard as a new entry to review and confirm. To configure your booking page, go to Settings → Store (or Store & Booking in the sidebar). Set your page heading, sub-heading, and toggle Publish the page now to make it live. Share the URL on your website, Instagram bio, or Google Business profile.
Learn everything about the booking page — custom questions, branding, and embed options — in the Store & Booking guide.
6
Invite team members (optional)
If you have staff who need access to DetailAhead, you can invite them by email address. Go to Settings → Team and enter each person’s email and their role:
- Staff — can view and update orders assigned to them
- Manager — can manage customers, orders, inventory, and view financials
- Owner — full access to all settings, billing, and team management
The number of team members you can invite depends on your plan — Growth supports up to 5 staff, Team supports unlimited employees. See Plans & Billing for a full comparison.
